Frequently asked questions

How do I care for my jewelry?

Our jewelry is made to be worn and loved. Our materials are durable and can be worn regularly. To keep your pieces looking their best, avoid prolonged exposure to harsh chemicals, lotions, perfumes, and cleaning products. When you’re not wearing your pieces, store them somewhere dry like our linen jewelry bags you get with each order. We also provide jewelry cloth which each order as well to help polish your piece.

Can I wear my jewelry in the shower or while swimming?

Yes! Our gold-filled and sterling silver jewelry is made for everyday wear. You can wear your pieces in the water, including while showering or swimming, but proper care will help maintain their shine and finish.

Gold-filled jewelry is highly durable and resistant to everyday wear. Sterling silver can naturally tarnish over time, especially when exposed to moisture, chlorine, salt water, and chemicals. If your jewelry gets wet, simply rinse it with fresh water when appropriate, dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth, and store it somewhere dry when you're finished wearing it.

For the longest-lasting shine, we recommend removing your jewelry before pools, hot tubs, ocean swimming, exercising, or applying lotions and perfumes. But don't be afraid to wear your jewelry—it's made to be enjoyed!

Will my jewelry tarnish?

Sterling silver can naturally tarnish over time, especially when exposed to air, moisture, oils, and chemicals. This is completely normal and does not mean your jewelry is damaged. A gentle polish with a silver polishing cloth can usually bring back its original shine.

Gold-filled jewelry is much more resistant to tarnishing and wear because it has a substantial layer of real gold bonded to the surface. With proper care, it can maintain its beautiful finish for a long time.

What’s the difference between our metals?

Gold-Filled
Gold-filled jewelry features a thick layer of real gold that is bonded to a base metal. It contains significantly more gold than gold-plated jewelry, making it durable and a great choice for everyday wear. With proper care, gold-filled jewelry can maintain its beautiful finish for years.

Sterling Silver
Sterling silver is a genuine precious metal made primarily of silver. It has a classic, bright finish and is made to be worn and enjoyed. Sterling silver can naturally tarnish over time due to exposure to air, moisture, and certain products, but it can easily be polished back to its shine.

Stainless Steel Plated
Stainless steel plated jewelry is made with a stainless steel base and finished with a decorative plating layer. Stainless steel is naturally strong and resistant to everyday wear, while the plating gives the piece its desired color and finish. With regular wear, the plated surface can gradually fade or change, especially with frequent exposure to water, sweat, perfumes, lotions, and chemicals. Proper care will help extend the life of the finish.

In short: Gold-filled is a durable option with a layer of real gold, sterling silver is a classic precious metal that can be polished when it tarnishes, and stainless steel plated jewelry offers durability with a beautiful plated finish.
